Sorry
for the wait....I know this post has been long awaited but life happens
and sometimes gets in the way. But I am back with our regularly
scheduled programming. From the ATL to the concrete jungle royalty
reigned all throughout the city as "The King" himself T.I and his
clothing brand Akoo are celebrating their 10 year anniversary with a
pre-launch of his collaboration with Ewing Athletics (that took place on 02.09.18). Myself and my team
were invited to attend the private event and get all the deets on this
unique collaboration.
Arriving
to the showroom, media and guests were greeted with delectable finger
foods, treats, as well as signature cocktails by Bartenura and Martell.
Setting the vibe throughout the part were a few of my personal favorites
on the ones and two's DJ Vashtie and DJ Ernz. Live art installation
also took place during the party by artist Lavan Wright painting a mural
in the showroom wall as well as decorated canvas' of the premiere
sneaker. Other special guests included rappers Casanova, Maino, LHHNY's
very own Bianca Bonnie, Mariah Lynn, and Snoop who we all know from
starring in the wire. Fashion industry elites were also in attendance
Claire Sumner's herself looking stunning as ever with her golden blonde
locks paired with her hounds-tooth ensemble, along side her stylist to
the stars Ms.June Ambrose both stepped in the building looking
phenomenal chatting and mingling among guests.
Throughout
the showroom mannequins were draped in the new collection. Everything
from sleek collegiate style Letterman jackets and polo shirts to shorts
ready to broken into for the arrival of spring. Take a look at my
favorite look here:
And let's not forget the the main attraction the "Sport Lite" sneaker. These kicks feature the classic Ewing silhouette using luxury materials such as premium suede and ostrich leather combined with zebra print and the Akoo brand signature seen throughout the shoe. The collection appears to be very cool and contemporary, the approach was greatly influenced by the unique prospective of the gentlemen's take on street wear. When asked about how this collab came into fruition and the inspiration behind it this is what T.I had to say: "This collection is not only a representation of how I see Akoo but also pushes the boundaries of how the brand has developed since the beginning," My team & I have worked hard to come up with something that people can take home and feel apart of the brand."
You
can expect to see this collection to drop sometime this spring at
Akooclothingbrand.com as well as select retailers worldwide.
Lastly
a special thank you to Kix & Lidz and shout out goes to Bri
Christian for the invite I look forward to more events such as these and
working with you in the near future.
