Packer Shoes x Reebok Phase 1 Pro “Corner ’85”

Packer Shoes is celebrating the Phase 1 Pro this season through a collaborative release with Reebok. Although the sneaker dates back to 1984, Packer remembers the sneaker at its hight of popularity in 1985 when it was hot on the racks at its Yonkers location.

Back then, the tennis shoe was a street staple…

Although it was original created to be a performance tennis shoe, one of the driving forces behind the Phase 1’s popularity was the fact that it quickly became a go-to choice for fashionable street hustlers of the time.

With its sleek, luxe look, the Phase 1 could be found flaunted on the feet of stylish trendsetters on the mid-80s corners of NYC and other cities and quickly spread from there.

The Packer Edition Reebok Phase 1 Pro pays tribute to the culture that surrounded the sneaker during its original popular run. First, setting the tone for the release, 1985 is embroidered on the heel while the luxe style of street wear during the mid 80s is achieved with white croc textured leather on the toe and heel. A nod to the gold accessories of the era, the lace tips are set in faux gold as is the lace clip with a gold rope chain graphic on the insole. Pulling all of the elements together, the sneaker is set in a white leather base on a gum sole.

Packer Shoes and PackerShoes.com dropped these kicks on Friday, the 13th of May for $110.
