Air Jordan x Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 9 Elite QS

This year, Nike Skateboarding is celebrating its ten year connection with Paul Rodriguez. Thus far, the celebration has included a reissue of the P-Rod 1 and P-Rod styled Dunk Low.

Next up for the entry into the anniversary series, Nike SB is calling back to a classic colorway of the P-Rod 1, which Tinker Hatfield created with Air Jordan styling. Here is how Nike SB describes how it happened.

When Paul Rodriguez said precisely this [“I want my own Jordan.”] to the SB design team back in 2005, the statement was met with a reaction best characterized as equal parts stoke and apprehension. We knew the yielded fruit would undoubtedly become the stuff of legend… if only we could get it made. The fact is that collaborations like this don’t come along every day.

Nike SB then followed up with an Air Jordan influenced design of the P-Rod 2.

Nike SB is not doing a reissue to celebrate the classic Air Jordan styled P-Rod 1. It is taking the Air Jordan concept and bringing it to the Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 9 Elite.

Featuring the best of both SB and Air Jordan, all the details of the classic original are back and accounted for. The elephant print, the Jumpman logo, the tip-of-the-hat homage style perforations… all resting comfortably atop a P-Rod 9 Elite Outsole. Aces.

Nike.com US released these kix on 19th of December. Check your locals for availability.
